Founded in 1993, Sun employs approximately 17,595 employees. Sun currently operates through various direct and indirect subsidiaries that engage in the following five principal business segments: (i) inpatient services, (ii) rehabilitation therapy services, (iii) medical staffing services, (iv) home health services and (v) laboratory and radiology services. SunBridge Healthcare Corporation (SunBridge) is one of the nation's largest nursing home companies, operating more than 109 long-term and post-acute care facilities with approximately 10,620 beds in 14 states. Sun's ancillary services' companies supply healthcare products and services to affiliated and nonaffiliated nursing homes, assisted living residences, and hospitals in 42 states. During the period January 1, 2003 to March 1, 2004, Sun divested 129 of its under-performing facilities.
