Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (Kaiser Permanente) is the largest not-for-profit managed health care company in the U.S. with approximately 8.7 million members in 9 states and the District of Columbia. Kaiser Permanente, an integrated health delivery system, organizes and provides or coordinates members' care, including preventive care such as well-baby and prenatal care, immunizations, and screening diagnostics; hospital and medical services; and pharmacy services. Kaiser encompasses Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and their subsidiaries, and the Permanente Medical Groups, as well as an affiliation with Group Health Cooperative based in Seattle. Kaiser, with operating revenue of nearly $38 billion, serves members through its network of 160,000 technical, administrative and clerical employees and 13,700 physicians. Kaiser also operates approximately 32 hospitals, 416 medical buildings, 62 dental and other medical buildings.
