Description

An integrated healthcare network has been defined as an organization, which, through ownership or formal agreements, aligns health care facilities in order to deliver integrated healthcare services by improving quality and reducing costs to a defined geographic area. Hospital and physician components and at least one other component of care are required for a system to be considered highly integrated. In 2007, there were an estimated 467 health care systems that were vertically integrated, with at least two different components of care. Knowledge Source's report Integrated Healthcare Networks (IHN) Market Overview examines the competitive landscape of the IHN market. Key issues and developments in the market are identified and 40 of the leading organizations are profiled. Each company profile includes (when available): organization background, facilities and services, statistical information, and recent activities.
