AmeriNet, founded in 1986 as a purchasing cooperative by a consortium of regional purchasing organizations, has grown to become the nation's largest membership-based group purchasing organization. AmeriNet is GPO of choice for a diverse industry including over 1,800 hospitals and over 18,000 non-acute members. AmeriNet launched a new identify initiative in late 2003 that merges AmeriNet Central, Intermountain Health Care and Vector under one direction -- delivering a network of solutions. AmeriNet exceeded its growth target in fiscal year 2003 exceeding more than $6 billion in member purchases. AmeriNet estimates its members saved more than $300 million and received a record $40 million in share back funds. AmeriNet membership also reached record numbers with more than 20,000 members. AmeriNet, as a GPO, negotiates volume discount contracts with its suppliers, on behalf of its member facilities, providing members with very favorable pricing, terms and conditions, and other benefits. The facilities participating in AmeriNet's purchasing program consist of hospitals, medical group practices, nursing homes, surgery centers, managed care organizations, long term care facilities, provider pharmacies, clinics and integrated delivery networks.. All supplier contracts are the sole property of AmeriNet. AmeriNet introduced a new tagline in 2004, "delivering a network of solutions", pointing the organization in a new direction. |
