Description

Horizon BlueCross BlueShield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ) is the state's largest health insurer, providing coverage to over 3.6 million people. Horizon BCBSNJ has annual revenues of over $7.5 billion and employs 5,200 people. Horizon BCBSNJ began implementing a managed care strategy in 1993. Horizon BCBSNJ filed an application in 2008 for conversion from a not-for-profit health service corporation to a for-profit company with the State of New Jersey. Horizon BCBSNJ's goal is to serve 4 million people by the end of 2011.
