Cardinal Health is an $91 billion global manufacturer and distributor of medical and surgical supplies and technologies dedicated to making healthcare safer and more productive. Cardinal Health announced a reorganization and the consolidation of its businesses in 2008 into two primary operating and reportable segments, the Healthcare Supply Chain Services and Clinical and Medical Products segments, to reduce costs and align resources with the needs of each segment. CareFusion expects to become a separate publicly traded company on Sept. 1, 2009 from the planned spin-off of Cardinal Health's clinical and medical products businesses.
