Today, the company's focus remains primarily in the health industry, but BCBSFL is more than a health insurer. In response to a vastly changing marketplace, BCBSFL is involved with companies to meet the diverse needs of the health industry overall. BCBSFL's premiums increased to $7.6 billion in 2007 from $6.8 billion in 2006. Total revenue increased to $8.3 billion in 2007 from $7.5 billion in 2006. Net income in 2007 decreased to $214 million from $311 million in 2006.
