RxRite is a private company that targets the electronic prescription market. The company has developed a secure wireless and Internet-based prescription service that connects physicians, pharmacists, payers, and patients through its secure application gateway, which enables the secure creation, transmittal, and processing of electronic prescriptions.
RxRite has also developed a proprietary "thin application" RxRite Wireless(tm) that resides on the new "always on", "always connected" Research In Motion(r) (RIM(r)) BlackBerry(r) handhelds. The company also plans to offer RxRite Wireless(tm) on other handheld devices in the near future.
